Ms Dorcas Wainaina is the third Executive Director, she has extensive Human Resource and Leadership Experience having been the Managing Partner, Midas HR Solutions consultancy firm for over three years and Senior International Human Resource advisor for IPAS for over four years. Previously, she has worked as Regional Human Resource Business Partner, Eastern and Central Africa at PATH for two years. Ms Dorcas holds an MBA in Business Administration (Human Resource Management option) from Kenyatta University and Bachelor of Education Degree (Linguistics and Literature) from the University of Nairobi (UoN). She also holds a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the College of Human Resource Management (CHRM). Ms. Dorcas has attended several local and international courses in Management and Leadership. Ms. Dorcas has proven leadership and management skills that enables her add value to the Institute in its quest to champion individual and organizational excellence, integrity and competitiveness throughout Africa and beyond.
Ms. Milkah Murimi is the Head of Secretariat at IHRM responsible for membership registration, Practicing Certificates and managing administrative functions. Milkah is a PhD in HR candidate at JKUAT. She holds both an MBA in HR and Bachelor’s Degree in HR from KEMU. She is a long-serving employee of IHRM with over 15 years working experience in managing the provision of membership services like membership registration and co- ordination of IHRM branch network. She has made continuous solid contributions towards the development of processes and systems for effective membership service delivery. She spearheads the development and periodic reviews of standard operations procedures manuals to support IHRM administrative operations. Milkah was a key member of staff in the team that developed the HR Bill that later became the current HR Act. Her main interest is to support the growth of the HR profession to meet the ever changing workplace challenges. She boasts of her excellent organization skills that have facilitated the execution of many projects at the Institute. She is a firm believer of unashamedly rewarding staff to enhance their performance leading to high productivity at IHRM.
Milka Owao is the Training/CPD Manager at IHRM responsible for marketing, implementation and evaluation of various training programs offered at IHRM. Over time Milka has created an extensive network of HR professionals who not only inform her of their training needs but also attend those programs that meet the needs. Training/CPD and Milka have become so synonymous that she has become the face of IHRM learning and development in the corporate sector and county and national governments. Milka has a knack for the type of training programs that are popular in the HR fraternity. She ensures that the programs are known far and wide to enable HR professionals attend them as part of their CPD. She undertakes aggressive marketing of a series of half-Saturday Certificate and Certified courses that are timely in equipping HR professionals with critical skills for better delivery of HR services. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in HR from the Open University of Tanzania, a Higher Diploma in HRM (KNEC), Diploma in Business Management (KIM) and is currently undertaking an MBA (Strategic Management) at JKUAT.
